The Lord Our Provider, Protector, and Preserver

Psalm 36: 5-7

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, Your judgments like the great deep.  O Lord, You preserve man and beast. How priceless is Your unfailing love! Therefore the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.”

The Offering Of Thankful Hearts

A  Responsive First Article Profession And Prayer

P: I believe in God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

C: I believe that God has made me and every creature, and that He gave me my body and soul, eyes, ear and all my members, my mind and all my abilities.

P: You are our Creator, our Maker, to Whom we owe all things, and to Whom we must give account. Forgive us,then,Lord, for our sometimes waywardness, our selfishness, our coldness toward You and toward one another.

C: What amazing wonders You work in our creation,Lord,Fearfully and wonderfully made, we were created to serve and glorify You with our mind, our talents, our strength and our substance.Forgive us when our hearts have failed to do so and when our mind and members have gone astray. Cleanse our hearts with the atoning blood of our Savior and strengthen us to praise and honor you with our whole being.

P: The same mighty Word that created all things is the very power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. Through the merits of Christ, our guilt has been pardoned and victory over sin, death and Satan assured. All praise & glory to You, Father,Son and Holy Spirit.

C: We thank You, Lord, for Your bountiful goodness in all areas of our lives. And I believe that God still preserves me by richly and daily providing clothing and shoes, food and drink, house and home, wife and children, land, cattle and all that I own, and all that I need to keep my body and life, and by defending me against all danger and guarding and protecting me from all evil.

P: We thank You, Lord, for Your providing, protecting and preserving hand in our lives. On countless occasions, You have helped us and delivered us. Help us to recognize our complete dependency upon you for every blessing of soul and body. Fill our hearts with a deep sense of our own unworthiness and an appreciative spirit of thanksgiving and praise.

C: All this God does only because He is my good and merciful Father in heaven, and not because I have earned or deserved it. For all this I ought to thank and praise, to serve and obey him. This is most certainly true.
