The Invocation And Our Palm Sunday Prayer
Lord, the Day of Palms is a day of triumph in Your life. As You set Your face toward death and moved to the hour of Your glory beyond the cross, You came to us as King. Yet you came in lowly pomp that we might know the real purpose of Your coming. You, who were rich, became poor for out sakes so that with sins forgiven we might become spiritually rich. Amid the shouts of “Hosanna to the Son of David” we know You as the suffering Servant of God. Through the waving palm branches we see You as the King of our peace. On the way paved with the garments of man’s homage we see You as the Son of Man, Who came not to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many. Amid the changes and songs of praises of little children, we know You as the One Who came to make us children of God. Come, King of grace, rule in us. Lord of all mercy, have mercy on us. Savior of sinners, save us. Amen.

The Reading Of Philippians 2; 5 – 8
(Holy Week takes us to both to the depth of our Savior’s humiliation with His hell-suffering and death on Good Friday and to the height of His exaltation with His death-defying Resurrection victory on Easter Sunday morning. In all of this Jesus’ Name is honored and glorified by all who confess Him as Lord.)
