The Invocation And Confession Of Sins

Almighty and everlasting God, Who forgives the sins of all who are penitent, create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that honestly lamenting our sins and spiritual shortcomings we may obtain of You perfect remission and forgiveness, through Christ our Redeemer. Save us from the pride that prevents our admitting we are wrong, the self-righteousness that stops our seeing the flaws in ourselves, the defiance that keeps us from being sorry for what we’ve done and the evasion that always puts the blame on someone or something else. Give us a true sense of penitence and remorse in order that we may be truly forgiven and the faith to look to Your love and mercy on the cross. May Your Son’s atoning sacrifice for our sins bring comfort, peace and strength to our hearts and lives. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

God’s Assurance Of Forgiveness In Christ

The Scripture Reading – Colossians 1: 15-23

The greatness and glory of Christ Jesus, evident to us in the wonders and grandeur of His mighty creation and of His dominion and rule over all for His Church, are unveiled to us even more in Scripture through  the revelation of His divine being and mercy and in His saving and reconciling work for us as our Savior on the cross. May we ever hold firmly to His precious Gospel, proclaiming it boldly to all the world.

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty; From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy Christian church, the communion of saints; The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body; And the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Gifts For The Lord’s Work

Speak, O Lord” (Vocalists: Heather Schierenbeck & Matthew Thurow)

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, Who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
