A “Red, White & Blue” Litany To The Lord Of Nations

P: For the precious blood of Jesus Christ, flowing red for all from Calvary to set Your people free.

C: We give You thanks, O Lord!

P: And for the blood of all who died so that in this land, so richly blessed, we might live in liberty.

C: We give You thanks, O Lord!

P: Preserve us and our world in peace, we pray, and make us worthy of our heritage.

Sing:   Before the Lord we bow, The God Who reigns above
And rules the world below  In boundless pow’r and love.
Our thanks we bring, In joy and praise
Our hearts we raise  To heav’n’s high King.

P: For all who have come out of the great tribulation, whose robes have been washed and made white in the blood of the Lamb,

C: We give You thanks, O Lord!

P: And for the promise that our sins as well, though scarlet, shall be white as snow;  Though crimson, shall become as wool.

C: We give You thanks, O Lord!

P: Wash all our sins away, we pray,  that we may serve You in love and righteousness all our days.

Sing:   Earth, hear Thy Maker’s voice,  Thy great Redeemer own;
Believe, obey, rejoice  and worship Him alone.
Cast down thy pride, Thy sin deplore,And bow before  the Crucified.

P: For love as deep as ocean depths and breadth and cleansing as the deep blue sea,

C: We give you thanks, O Lord!

P: And for the hope of everlasting life, toward which we lift our eyes unto the bright blue sky; For heaven opened wide as Jesus’ ever-opened arms.

C: We give You thanks, O Lord!

P: By Your holy Spirit keep us faithful, Lord, until, with all Your ransomed saints, we sing Your praise in everlasting joy.

Sing:   And when in power He comes,  Oh, may our native land
From all its rending tombs  Send forth a glorious band,
A countless throng Forever sing  To heaven’s high King  Salvation’s song.

The Scripture Reading – 1 Timothy 2: 1 – 7

The Apostle encourages Christians to pray for all, including our nation’s leaders, in order to foster an atmosphere of quiet peace where the Gospel can bring forth fruit in our own lives and those of others.

(As Scripture presents the reception of this Sacrament as an expression of spiritual and confessional unity, we ask only those who are confirmed members of Berea or of another CLC church to come forward. This is an expression of our faith, not a judgment on the faith of others.)
