Order of Worship:

FIFTH SUNDAY IN LENT Sunday, March 9, 2008 (Sunday – 8:30 & 10:30 A.M.)

For Pre-Service Reading: Psalm 31, Page 130 In Front Of Hymnal

Opening Hymn 347 (V 1-4) – “Jesus, Priceless Treasure”

The Invocation And Confessional Prayer

Father in heaven, I confess that it is I who should have been on trial for my many and grievous sins against you and against Your holy Law. It is I who deserves to be convicted, condemned and punished in the divine courts. Yet, where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. Your mercy brought Jesus to earth, placed my sin-burden upon Him and led Him to suffer death at the hands of men and eternal punishment at the hands of holy God – all for me. Lead me to the cross and help me ever to look to Jesus as my Savior in faith. Forgive my sins, cleanse my soul and ever keep me safe in Your loving and everlasting arms..

The Absolution

The Apostolic Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty; From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy Christian Church, the communion of saints; The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body; And the life everlasting. Amen.
