The Invocation & The Scripture Reading – Colossians 3: 1-15
As our minds and hearts focus on spiritual and eternal priorities, such a faith-perspective reflects itself in our lives. No longer slaves to sin nor to our sinful nature, we seek to crush our old Adam as we put on the “new man” in Christ – filled with love for our God and one another.
The Nicene Creed (Page 22 in Hymnal)
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge both the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceedeth from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spake by the prophets. And I believe one holy Christian and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

“Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.” Luke 15:18

Song (During Offering): “Let Us Ever Walk With Jesus” (Steven Rhodes)
(Vocalists: Stephanie Mueller, Patti Lang, and Jim Doring)
Let us ever walk with Jesus, Follow His example pure,
Flee the world, which would deceive us And to sin our souls allure.
Ever in His footsteps treading, Body here, yet soul above,
Full of faith and hope and love, Let us do the Father’s bidding.
Faithful Lord, abide with me; Savior, lead, I follow Thee.
Let us gladly live with Jesus; Since He’s risen from the dead,
Death and grave must soon release us. Jesus, Thou art now our Head,
We are truly Thine own members; Where Thou livest, there live we. Take and own us constantly, Faithful Friend, as Thy dear brethren. Jesus, here I live to Thee, Also there eternally.
The Confession Of Sins
Holy and merciful Father, I confess that I am by nature sinful and that I have disobeyed You in my thoughts, words and actions. I have done what is evil and failed to do what is good. For this I deserve Your punishment both now and in eternity. But I am truly sorry for my sins and, trusting in my Savior Jesus Christ, I pray: Lord, have mercy on me a sinner.
God gave His Word so “that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His Name” (John 20:31). The Scriptures testify about Jesus, Who lived a perfect life for you, died on the cross to pay for all your sins, and rose again to assure you of salvation. Therefore as a called servant of Christ and by His authority, I forgive you all your sins in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
The Consecration Of The Elements
The Distribution of the Lord’s Supper ( TLH 306 : Lord Jesus Christ, Thou Hast Prepared )
(Because God’s Word presents the reception of this Sacrament as a most intimate expression of spiritual and confessional unity, we ask that only those who have publicly professed such oneness of faith and belief with us by membership at Berea or another CLC church come forward. Please speak with pastor if you are seeking a church home or have any questions.)
Our After-Communion Prayer
Lord God of mercy, I give You thanks for the body and blood of Your Son, the pledge of my forgiveness, life and salvation. May the gifts of Your heavenly banquet fortify me against the Evil One and strengthen me in the face of the world’s temptations. Help me always to live as one who hungers for Your grace, thirsts after Your righteousness and longs to taste of Your goodness. May I one day sit at Your table at the heavenly feast where we will forever enjoy the blessings of Your grace.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, Who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Benediction ♫ Amen, Amen, Amen
