Hymn 705 (Supplement) – “Come, O Long-Expected Jesus”

The Invocation And Responsive Christmas Reading
(Poetry By Pastor L.D. Redlin ; Sung Verses By Berea Day School (Grades 7-8), Melody To Hymn 713 – “Your Little Ones, Dear Lord Are We”)

C: How gracious are You, O Lord. When I was fast bound in the prison of sin and death, You came to me! You came to rescue me, to forgive me and to give me new life. All of this You gave me through my ChristChild Savior Jesus Christ. I pray that my life may always be one of thankful praise to you. In my Savior’s Name I pray.

P: A wonder that will never cease To cause our hearts to stir,
Is when the LORD came down to us With prophets’ words concur.

C: We know we don’t deserve a thing, From God and from His grace.
In fact our sins condemn us all, In shame we hide our face.

The wonder of it all we see With eyes of faith and trust.
W e marvel most of all because the LORD GOD comes to us.

God sent His Son for just one cause, To tell us,”I love you!
On my dear Son I’ll lay your sins, There’s nothing left to do.”

(Sing): Our Savior Christ was born this day, And in a lowly manger lay.
God’s mighty plan had just begun; Because of Him salvation won.

Was humbly born in manger low, Sent from above to battle foe, To give his life upon the cross, To save poor sinners who were lost.

P: So here’s God’s Christmas gift to you, for sinners one and all.
Come with us at this sacred time, To that dark cattle stall.

C: For there we’ll see the greatest Gift that we will ever find.
Our hopes and dreams are met in Him, Our peace in heart and mind.

The wonder of all we see, With eyes of faith and trust.
We marvel most of all because the LORD GOD comes to us.

With hearts of faith we come to Thee, Your Christmas love again to see.
With thankful hearts desire to serve Now keep us Lord,our souls preserve.

This Christmas we rejoice in Thee; Now may we live eternally!
Praise be to God Who sent His Son, Christ Jesus, the vict’ry’s won!

The Scripture Reading – Revelation 12: 1 – 6

Our Christmas Creed

I believe that Christmas is the ultimate revelation of God’s love and glory. God sent his only-begotten Son into the world to become also Man in order that he might truly represent the human race as the Second Adam. Long- promised and long-awaited, Jesus came lowly and humbly as a servant. Perfectly He fulfilled the Law for us by living a holy life; Lovingly He gave His life as a ransom for many to atone for our sins; Victoriously He rose from death to seal our redemption. From the manger to the cross and to the empty Tomb – this God-Man, Jesus Christ, perfectly and completely accomplished His mission of salvation. Through faith in Jesus God’s precious gifts – forgiveness, life and love – become ours. All praise and glory be our God Who created Christmas and preserves it in our hearts. Amen.

The Sermon …………………………………Revelation 12: 5b – 6
“And her Child was snatched up to God and to His throne. And the woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for by God.”

Hymn 715 – “Where Shepherds Lately Knelt”

Our Gifts For The ChristChild And His Christmas Gospel

The Wexford Carol
(Vocalist: Cathy Augustin; Accompanist: Ryan Augustin)

Good people all this Christmas time, Consider well and bear in mind
What our good God for us has done, In sending His beloved Son.
With Mary lowly we should pray To God with love this Christmas Day;
In Bethlehem upon that morn there was a blessed Messiah born.
Near Bethlehem did shepherds keep their flocks of lambs and feeding sheep;
To whom God’s angels did appear, Which put the shepherds in great fear.
‘Prepare and go’, the angels said, ‘To Bethlehem, be ye not afraid;
For there you’ll find, this happy morn, A princely Babe, sweet Jesus born.’

With thankful heart and joyful mind the shepherds went the Babe to find,
And as God’s angel had foretold, They did our Savior Christ behold.
Within a manger He was laid, And by His side the virgin maid,
Attending to the Lord of life, Who came on earth to end all strife.
