God is Building His Church (Ephesians 2: 19-22)

The Sermon ………………………………………………….. Ephesians 2: 19-22
Consequently, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you are are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit.

The Scripture Reading – Hebrews 12: 22-28
(Mt. Zion, the hill upon which the city and temple at Jerusalem were built, became a symbolic name for God’s sacred presence among His people, a picture of the holy Christian Church. It is Jesus and His atoning blood that redeem us and bring us to Zion. Those who dwell there by faith possess a faith, foundation and future that cannot be shaken, even when every created thing is shaken on the Last Day. What a blessing is ours from Him before Whom we stand in reverence and awe.)

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty; From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy Christian church, the communion of saints; The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body; And the life everlasting. Amen.
