THE BLESSINGS OF THE CHRISTIAN FAMILY

The Sermon ……….………………….………………… Psalm 128

Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in His ways. When you eat the fruit of your labor, you will be blessed and it will be well with you. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house, your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Thus is the man blessed who fears the Lord. May the Lord bless you from Zion all the days of your life; May you see the prosperity ofJerusalem, and may you live to see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel.

Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us that we should be called the sons of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are the children of God; And it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

FIRST SUNDAY AFTER EASTER

The Sermon ………………..………………………………………….. John 20: 19 – 31

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said: “Peace be with you!” After He said this, He showed them His hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.” And with that He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgiven anyone his sins, they are forgiven; If you do not forgive them, theyare not forgiven.”

Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in His hands and put my fingers where the nails were, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe it.

A week later His disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finer here; See my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus said, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Jesus did many other miracles in the presence of His disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His Name.

THE RISEN CHRIST CONVEYS EASTER POWER

1. The Power To Forgive Sins

2. The Power To Believe In The Risen Christ

3. The Power To Live Forever
