(Refrain) Surely it is God Who saves me; I will trust in Him and not be afraid For the Lord is my stronghold and my sure defense, and He has become my Savior (Repeat)

1.Therefore you shall draw water with rejoicing from the springs of salvation. And on that day you shall say, “Give thanks to the Lord, and call upon His Name.” (Refrain)

2. Make his deeds know among the peoples; See that they remember that His Name is exalted. Sing the praises of the Lord, for He has done great things, and this is known in all the world. (Refrain)

3. Cry aloud, inhabitants of Zion, Ring out your joy, for the great One in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel. (Refrain)

Opening Hymn TLH 334 : Let Me be Yours Forever Hymnary.org link

1. Let me be Thine forever, Thou faithful God and Lord;
Let me forsake Thee never Nor wander from Thy Word.
Lord, do not let me waver, But give me steadfastness,
And for such grace forever Thy holy name I’ll bless.

2. Lord Jesus, my Salvation, My Light, my Life divine,
My only Consolation, Oh, make me wholly Thine!
For Thou hast dearly bought me With blood and bitter pain.
Let me, since Thou hast sought me, Eternal life obtain.

3. And Thou, O Holy Spirit, My Comforter and Guide,
Grant that in Jesus’ merit I always may confide,
Him to the end confessing Whom I have known by faith.
Give me Thy constant blessing And grant a Christian death.

Sung Stanzas  CW 449 : Children of the Heavenly Father Hymnary.org link

God His own doth tend and nourish; In His holy courts they flourish. From all evil things He spares them; In His mighty arms He bears them.

Neither life nor death shall ever From the Lord His children sever; His the loving purpose solely To preserve them pure and holy.

Scripture Reading – 1 Timothy 6:11-16

The Apostle’s earlier faith-encouragement to young Timothy provides life-wisdom for our confirmands and for all of us: Flee sin, evil and false teaching; Pursue godliness, faith and Christian virtues; Make your good “word confession” a “life confession” as you follow Christ into glory. To Him alone be all glory!

The Apostles Creed (Page 12 in Hymnal)

I believe in God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty; From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

“Create In Me” (Page 12 in Hymnal)

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me,

1. Thine forever, God of Love! Hear us from Thy throne above;
Thine forever may we be Here and in eternity!

2. Thine forever! Oh, how blest They who find in Thee their rest!
Savior, Guardian, heavenly Friend, Oh, defend us to the end!

3. Thine forever, Lord of Life! Shield us through our earthly strife.
Thou, the Life, the Truth, the Way, Guide us to the realms of day.

4. Thine forever! Shepherd, keep These Thy frail and trembling sheep
Safe alone beneath Thy care, Let us all Thy goodness share.

All our sins by Thee forgiven; Lead us, Lord, from earth to heaven.

Song by Quartet: “Jesus, You Are Mine Forever” – (by S. Mueller) (Sarah Olmanson, Audra Wiste, Steve Kuehne, Matt Thurow)

Jesus, You are mine forever, Dearer far than earth to me;
Those sweet ties that bind me to You Ever shall unbroken be.
All were drear to me and lonely If Your presence gladdened not;
While I sing to You, You only, Mine’s an ever blissful lot.

You alone are all my Treasure, Who has died that I may live,
You confer the noblest pleasure, You who all my sins forgive.
Brightest gems and fairest flowers Lose their beauty in Thy frown;
Joy and peace, like balmy showers, In Your smile come gently down.

Jesus, You are mine forever; Never let me go astray.
Let me in my weakness never Cast my priceless pearl away.
Lamb of God, I do implore You, Guard, support me, lest I fall.
Let me evermore adore You; Be my everlasting All.
