Divine Justice in Our Lord’s 2nd Coming

The Sermon: 2 Thessalonians 1 : 3-11

We ought always to thank God for you, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love you have for one another is increasing. Therefore, among God’s churches we commend your perseverance and faith in all the  persecutions and trials you are enduring.   All this is evidence that God’s judgment is righteous, and as a result you will be counted worthy in the kingdom of God, for which you suffer. God is just: He will repay trouble to those who trouble you, and give relief to you and we who are troubled. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God & believe the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and kept from the Lord’s presence and the majesty of His power when He comes to be glorified in His holy people and marveled at among all those who believe.

Divine Justice in our Lord’s 2nd Coming

2. Eternal Punishment For All Who Reject The Gospel

The Scripture Reading – 2 Peter 3: 3 – 14

For all end-time scoffers, the great flood is indisputable evidence that God’s patience, only extended to grant time for repentance, will ultimately give way to judgment. The great day of the Lord will come with this sin-corrupted universe destroyed to give way to our glorious eternal home. In view of this, our concern for ourselves, those we love and all mankind, is that by faith we be found blameless and at peace with Him.
