from the place where He was laid.” (Chorus)
What is that Good News that Mary heard the angel say, while visiting the tomb
that day where the stone was rolled away? (Chorus)
Go and tell the others that death has lost its sting, and Jesus goes before us now.
Alleluia! Let us sing. (Chorus)
The Invocation And Opening Prayer
Choir: “He Is Living” (Easter Story - Music By Prof. John Reim)
(Director: Cathy Augustin; Accompanist: Ryan Augustin)
It happened on the first day of the week. Women, with spices in hand, left in the dark
to anoint the Lord. Then, at the rising of the sun, they approached where He was laid,
having wondered how the tomb would be opened. But at the break of day the earth had
trembled in the land. And when they looked, they saw the stone was rolled away. To them appeared in clothing brilliant as the winter snow, the messengers from heaven sent to them
to say, “Away with doubt and fear. The Savior is not here. Why do you look among the dead
for the living? He has arisen, as He said. He is living! To His disciples go and tell of His
rising. He goes to Galilee where you will behold Him.”
The women quickly ran, amazed and filled with fear, to tell what they had seen and
heard. They brought disciples word. “At break of day we took our spices to anoint the Lord,
and when we looked, we saw the stone was rolled away.To us appeared in clothing brilliant
as the winter snow, the messengers from heaven sent to us to say, ‘Away with doubt and fear. The Savior is not here. Why do you look among the dead for the living? He has arisen, as
He said. He is living!
To the tomb ran two disciples, John outrunning Peter to the place. Bending down, John
saw the clothes. He saw and He believed! Away with doubt and fear. The Savior is not here. Why do you look among the dead for the living? He has arisen, as He said. He is living!
The Lord has risen and lives forevermore.
The Opening Hymn 733 (Supplement) – “This Joyful Eastertide”
A Responsive Easter Litany
P: Lord Jesus, on this first day of the week, we come together to celebrate
Your resurrection from the grave.
C: He is risen! Alleluia!
P: You have promised that though our sins are like scarlet, they shall be
as white as snow. So often we spoil our celebrations of Your grace. Sin
plagues our thoughts, words and actions. Forgive us, Lord Jesus. When
our sins weigh heavily upon our hearts, assure us that You have arisen
and our sins have been forgiven.
C: He is risen! Alleluia!
(All Sing)
Jesus lives! The vict’ry’s won! Death no longer can appall me;
Jesus lives!Death’s reign is done! From the grave Christ will recall me.
Brighter scenes will then commence; This shall be my confidence.
P: Dear Jesus, we sometimes become so busy with all the things of this life
that the Easter hopes fades. When the pace and problems of life threaten
to take our eyes off of You and of our Easter hope, renew us in the certain-
ty and joy that Your empty tomb gives us victory over sin, death and hell.
C: He is risen! Alleluia!
(All Sing)
Oh, then, draw away your hearts Now from pleasures base and hollow,
There to share what He imparts, Here His footsteps ye must follow.
Fix your hearts beyond the skies, Whither ye yourselves would rise.
P: Death surrounds us every day. As we watch our loved ones die, our
hearts are saddened and our eyes fill with tears. We know we too shall die
and our bodies will rest in the grave. Lord Jesus, give us confidence, hope
and joy in the face of death. When death reaches for us and our loved
ones, comfort us with Your empty tomb. Our graves will not hold us any
more than your grave could hold you. Preserve us in faith that we may be reunited with all believers and sing Your praise forever. Give us the
courage to share with others the hope that we have because of Your triumphant resurrection from the dead.
C: He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
(All Sing)
Jesus, my Redeemer, lives; I, too, unto life shall waken.
Endless joy my Savior gives; Shall my courage, then, be shaken?
Shall I fear, or could the Head Rise and leave the members dead?
P: But now is Christ risen from the dead and become the firstfruits of
those who have fallen asleep.
C: For since by man came death, by Man came also the resur-
rection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ
shall all be made alive.
P: So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has
put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is
written, “Death is swallowed up in victory!”
C: O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is Your victory?
The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law. But
thanks be to God Who gives us the victory through our Lord
Jesus Christ.
(All Sing)
Laugh to scorn the gloomy grave And at death no longer tremble;
He, the Lord, Who came to save Will at last His own assemble.
They will go their Lord to meet, treading death beneath their feet.
Those who sorrow here & moan There in gladness will be reigning;
Earthly here the seed is sown, There immortal life attaining.
Here our sinful bodies die, Glorified to dwell on high.
The Apostles Creed
I believe in God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; And
in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy
Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was cruci-
fied, dead and buried. He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of
God the Father almighty; From thence He shall come to judge the quick
and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy Christian Church, the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Hymn 210 - “The Strife Is O’er”

The Easter Offering
Our Prayer
Alleluia! Lord Jesus, You have arisen. Help us trust Your
resurrection in the days ahead, whether they are filled with
joy or sorrow. Be with us, strengthen us and bless us each day
until we stand before You to sing Your praise forever. Now
we bring our requests to You in the words of the prayer You
have taught us:
Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed by Thy Name. Thy Kingdom
come; Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven; Give us this day our
daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us; And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For
Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
P: The Lord be with you.
C: And also with you.
P: Let us praise the Lord.
C: Thanks be to God.
