Purpose
The purpose of Berea Lutheran School is to assist parents with the Christian education of their children. This labor of love involves the application of God’s inspired and inerrant Word throughout the school day.
For this reason, the teaching of the Word of God is all important, for it makes us wise for salvation through the faith which is in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15)
Children need to be trained in the way they should go, namely, in the Lord’s way. Therefore the children need the correction, guidance, discipline, and security which only God’s word can give.
At Berea, it is our goal that children entrusted in our care will grow in the knowledge and love of our savior from sin, and become useful citizens in this life. In order to serve the Lord with their abilities and talents the students at Berea are taught that they have good reason to learn of God’s orderly creation (mathematical, biological, and physical sciences). And of God’s continual working in the affairs of the world around us (social sciences). What better reason for learning to communicate well (language arts) than to share God’s Word for peace and promise with others.
Berea Lutheran School is not merely a private school but we consider our Christian education to be the most complete education available dealing with all aspects of the individual’s soul, mind, and body. We encourage parents to reinforce our teachings by bringing their children to our Sunday School and Worship Services regularly. Children in grades seven and eight complete their preparation for communicant membership through doctrinal studies with the pastor of Berea Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Enrollment Policy
Applications for members of Berea are accepted throughout the year. There is no registration deadline. Also, as space, time and our guidelines permit, we welcome children of non-members and thank God that we have the opportunity to share with others that which our Lord has so generously given to us.
However, it must always be remembered that we are above all a Christian school (rather than a secular or private school) wherein purpose is to impress our students with the blessings of God’s love for us in Christ Jesus. We encourage non-members parents to become acquainted with the teachings of Berea church and attend our worship services.
Any students with special needs will need to be assessed by our staff to determine whether we will be able to serve them adequately.
