Anatomy Of A Fool

The Sermon: Ecclesiastes 10 (Excerpts)

“As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor…. The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of a fool to the left. Even as he walks along the road, the fool lacks wisdom and shows everyone how foolish he is….. Fools are put in many high positions, while the rich occupy the lowly ones. I have seen slaves on horseback, while princes go on foot like slaves…. Whoever quarries stones may be injured by them; Whoever splits logs may be endangered by them. If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed but skill will bring success…. Words from a wise man’s mouth are gracious, but a fool is consumed by his own lips. At the beginning his words are folly; At the end they are wicked madness – and the fool multiplies words…. If a man is lazy, the rafters sag; If his hands are idle, the house leaks.”

Anatomy Of A Fool

  1. Like “A Fly In The Ointment”, Folly Can Spoil Blessings
  2. His Heart Leans To The Left – Away from God!
  3. He Finds False Security In His “High Position”
  4. Without The Right Tool Or Skill, Much Harm Can Be Done
  5. He Is “Consumed By The Words Of His Own Lips”
  6. His Home’s “Rafters Are Sagging” And “Roof Leaking”
