Sung Stanzas (Children Of The Heavenly Father)

God His own doth tend and nourish; In His holy courts they flourish.
From all evil things He spares them; In His mighty arms He bears them.
Neither life nor death shall ever From the Lord His children sever;
His the loving purpose solely To preserve them pure and holy.

(Make Your Good Confession Of Jesus)

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty; From thence He shall come again to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy Christian Church, the communion of saints; The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn 334“Let Me Be Thine Forever”

The Sermon …………………………………………………. Genesis 28: 16 – 22

When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place and I was not aware of it.” He was afraid and said, “How awe-some is this place! This is none other than the house of God; This is the gate of heaven.”Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it. He called that place Bethel. Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear so that I return safely to my Father’s house, then the Lord will be my God and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will give you a tenth.
